1 Dead, 3 Injured In Minneapolis Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities are investigating after one person was killed and three others were hurt in a shooting in north Minneapolis early Saturday morning.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities are investigating after one person was killed and three others were hurt in a shooting in north Minneapolis early Saturday morning.

MINNEAPOLIS — (MPD) — Shortly after 4:30 on Saturday morning Minneapolis Police responded to a report of a shooting that happened inside a residence on the 1200 block of 22nd Avenue North. While en route to that call, they were notified of a an adult male down, possibly suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers arrived at the residence where the first shooting was reported. Inside they located three adult males suffering gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were transported to North Memorial Medical Center by ambulance with serious but non-life threatening wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male who was down on the 1000 block of 22nd Avenue North was found to have been with the other three when they were all shot and he fled out of the residence for safety. He was transported to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation yields that this specific home was the intended target and this may have been drug related.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim as well as the nature and cause of death.

The Inspector commanding the 4th Precinct is increasing directed patrol in this area as well as asking officers for more community engagement in the affected neighborhood. We are allocating patrol resources in an effort to prevent future acts of violent crime. Residents will see more police in this area and are encouraged to share information and work with officers on this public safety issue.
