13-Year-Old Virginia Boy Shoots Man, 35, Following ‘Verbal Argument,’ Police Say

HAMPTON, VA. — The Hampton Police made an arrest in connection with a shooting investigation that occurred on May 13, 2018.

As a result of the investigation, a 13-year-old Hampton male has been charged.

At 12:03 a.m., Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a shooting complaint in the 700 block of Todds Lane. Officers responded to the area and located the victim, a 35-year-old Hampton man, within a residence and suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for what is considered to be a life-threatening injury by members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal argument that then turned physical when the suspect shot the victim.

The suspect, a 13-year-old Hampton male, has been charged with one count of Malicious Wounding and one count of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
