16-Year-Old NJ Boy Stabbed To Death Just Hours Into The New Year

Camden, NJ- A Camden City man has been charged with Aggravated Manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old male victim this morning, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 2:54 a.m., a 9-1-1 call was received with a report of a person stabbed at the 3000 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden City, NJ. Officers and EMS arrived and found a 16-year-old male victim who was suffering from stab wounds. The male victim of Camden City was transported to Cooper University Medical Center, and he was pronounced deceased at 3:50 a.m.

Following an investigation by detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and detectives of the Camden County Police Department, 20-year-old Jonathan Flores-Chila was charged with 1st degree Aggravated Manslaughter and weapons offenses.

Flores-Chila will be transported to Camden County Correctional Facility when he is released from the hospital.
