Gambell Village, ALASKA — Two suspects allegedly stole 80 frozen pizzas from a warehouse and then attempted to sell the pies to police, the Alaska Dispatch News reported.
The duo allegedly called the Gambell Police Department offering to sell the pizzas to on-duty officers.
The pizza bandits were identified as John Koozaata, 29, and Lewis Oozeva, 21. They have both been charged with burglary and theft.
Seventy-five of the 80 pizzas have been recovered, according to Reuters.
Gambell is a city in the Nome Census Area of the U.S. state of Alaska. Located on St. Lawrence Island, it had a population of 681 at the 2010 census.
