DALLAS, Texas —  6800 block/Beechnut Street — An infant was pronounced dead tonight after a tragic dog attack in Texas.

Dallas Police say the two-month-old boy was at home with his father when the father went outside to turn on a sprinkler around 5 p.m. local time.

A pit bull in the house allegedly attacked the child, who was in a ‘bouncer seat.’

As the father was attempting to pull the dog off of the baby, the mother walked in. With the mother in the house, the male was able to remove the dog from the child.

The homeowner took the dog outside and shot it twice, Fox4News reported.

The child’s mother was also bitten twice during the attack. This is a breaking story. An investigation is ongoing,
