A school was placed under lockdown after a small argument turned into a large brawl.
The incident began with two girls arguing but escalated into a 30-girl fight.
The disturbance began at around 9:45am at University Prep High School in Pittsburgh.
Police were requested to the school and all of the 30 girls were arrested.
Police received reports that the fight began over a boy but officials have since said the fight escalated because of rivalry.
One of the students was taken to a Children’s Hospital after suffering an asthma attack.
Many others suffered minor bruises and scratches.

Pittsburgh Public Schools spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said that an officer was also injured and taken to a local hospital.
One of the parents reported:
‘She said there was a big fight outside the classroom and I said okay, what’s going on?
‘Then I hear a girl crying and [my daughter says] “Ma she’s bleeding everywhere”, so I tell her to find the girl some Kleenex.
The lockdown was lifted after the 30 students were removed from the school grounds.
