4 Women Arrested For Attacking Police Officer at Shopping Mall

ALASKA — Three additional females have been charged during the investigation of an assault of an off-duty Anchorage Police Officer on Friday night, and charges for a juvenile also involved in the incident were referred to McLaughlin Youth Center.

Both Alicia Hinzman, 20, and Taylor Roderick, 22, were charged with obstructing arrest of another using force and assault on a police officer. They were remanded to the Anchorage Jail with bail set at $1,000 c/c. Alicia Roderick, 18, was charged with resisting/interfering with an arrest and was remanded to the Anchorage Jail. Charges for a 17-year-old female who was also involved in the case were referred to McLaughlin Youth Center.

Meanwhile, police have been unable to locate the main suspect of the assault, 21-year-old Raelle Roderick, who has been charged with theft, three counts of resisting and assault on a police officer.

On Friday, December 18, 2015 after 9:00 p.m., an off-duty Anchorage police officer witnessed a female shoplifting at a store inside of a local mall. When the officer made contact with the suspect and identified herself as a police officer, the suspect pushed her way past the officer and refused to follow any commands.

The engagement between the suspect and the officer continued outside of the store. The suspect assaulted the officer and left the mall in a vehicle described as a silver 2013 Ford Fusion.

The officer was looked at by medics on scene and suffered non-life threatening injuries to her face and head from the assault.

Police are searching for Roderick.
