HAMPTON, Va. — The Hampton Police Division has arrested Gracielle Devika Donise Garnett, in connection with a homicide that occurred on December 6, 2015. On November 30, 2015, at 1:36 p.m., Public Safety Communications received a medical call for service in the 100-block of Winchester Drive in reference to a 4-month-old Hampton male that was unresponsive.
Members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue responded to the home and transported the juvenile to a local hospital. Officers responded to the hospital to further investigate the incident.
On December 6, 2015, the victim, identified as Kyrie Devon Crooms, was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
The investigation has revealed that the suspect physically assaulted the victim on November 30, 2015. The suspect and an additional juvenile were in the home when the incident occurred. Child Protective Services was notified and the children residing within the residence are currently being cared for by a relative.
Gracielle Devikia Donise Garnett, a 33-year-old Hampton woman, who resides in the 100-block of Winchester Drive, has been arrested in connection with this incident.
Garnett has been charged with one count of Homicide. She currently remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail. -HPD
