White Supremacist Charged With Attempted Murder After Shootout With Cops

On Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 8:48 PM, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service regarding a burglary in progress in the 2400 block of Sierra Springs. The suspect fired multiple shots at the officers. CSPD officers returned fire.

The suspect then got into his vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Ruskin Drive and Whittier Drive. Upon exiting his vehicle, CSPD officers fired additional rounds hitting the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as Thomas James Guolee, DOB: 11/11/81, of Colorado Springs. He is being charged with Criminal Attempt First Degree Murder of a Police Officer, Criminal Attempt First Degree Burglary, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft and Vehicular Eluding.

According to the NY Daily News, Guolee, a white supremacist prison gang member, was linked to the murder of Colorado corrections chief in 2011.
