NASHVILLE, Tenn. — North Precinct detectives are working to identify the men involved in an apparent exchange of gunfire during a large party early Sunday morning that injured seven persons in the backyard of 1407 Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard.

Officers responded to shots fired at 2 a.m. They located the victims, six women and one man, ages 19-22. Five of the victims were treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center while two others were taken to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital. All seven sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation shows that two groups of men got into an altercation and exchanged gunfire. The victims were apparently caught in the crossfire and not involved in the dispute.

One suspect is described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He has dreadlocks with blonde highlights. He was wearing an orange t-shirt and light blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the persons involved is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
