Border Patrol agents stopped the trucks near Elgin Monday.

A helicopter crew responded to a report of suspicious activity near Elgin, according to a news release.

When agents arrived in the area, they found two trucks — one filled with marijuana worth an estimated $360,000, said officials.

The marijuana in the cab was under black sheets, and the bundles in the bed of the truck were under plywood and debris.

The helicopter crew guided agents to three suspected smugglers who were attempting to flee the area. One is a U.S. citizen and the other two are Mexican nationals, said officials.
