North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on Thursday was placed on lockdown on Thursday, with reports that a possible gunman was on the Durham campus. The school tweeted: “Eagle Alert: The NCCU campus is on lockdown. Please stay away from all windows and doors. There is a possible active shooter on campus.”
They then tweeted: “The NCCU campus remains on lockdown. Please continue to shelter indoors.”
The school is located on Fayetteville Street in Durham, N.C.
UPDATE 3:10PM EST: The all clear has just sounded at the campus. It is still unclear what took place.
UPDATE 3:13PM EST: Chopper 11HD is showing images of police walking someone out with his hands over his head.
