STERLING, Va. β€” U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO), at Washington Dulles International Airport arrested a Salvadoran citizen October 21 who was wanted by the Fairfax County, Va., Police Department for felony sexual assault of a minor.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, Victor Manuel Ramos Montoya, 53, who arrived on a flight from Mexico, is wanted on felony sexual assault of a minor (10 year old). CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition. CBP officers arrested Montoya and turned him over to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police officers for extradition.

CBP placed an immigration detainer on Montoya, who holds U.S. permanent resident status, which ensures that he is returned to CBP upon the adjudication of any charges for further immigration processing.

β€œThe United States is a welcoming nation; however, CBP remains ever vigilant in intercepting travelers who are suspected of violating our laws and require further scrutiny,” said Wayne Biondi CBP Area Port Director for the Port of Washington Dulles.
