Police Respond To Security Incident at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport

Parts of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol were evacuated as officials investigated a suspicious device Tuesday.

According to local reports, one arrest has been made.

Police Officers and the bomb squad swarmed the area during the security incident.

“We had a call about a situation,” Dutch police told CNN. Sections of the airport are “not accessible due to an incident,” the spokesperson said.

The facility Tweeted: “Police is investigating the matter. For now, air traffic has not been affected.”

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the main international airport of the Netherlands, located 4.9 nautical miles southwest of Amsterdam, in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, province of North Holland.
