Austin police searching for man who fell asleep in the bed of a truck that was later stolen

The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 22-year-old Luis Balderas Garcia:

Balderas Garcia was reported missing on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at approximately 11:09a.m. He was last seen exiting Club Lobos at 9601 N IH-35 SVRD NB at approximately 5:37am. After Balderas Garcia exited the club he got into the bed of a truck and fell asleep. As he was asleep in the bed of the truck, the vehicle was then stolen and the suspects drove off with Balderas Garcia still asleep in the back. No contact has been able to be made with Balderas Garcia since the incident occurred. Given the circumstances surrounding Balderas Garcia’s disappearance we are concerned for his well being.

Balderas Garcia is described as:

  • Hispanic male
  • 5’10”
  • 150 pounds
  • Brown eyes
  • Black hair
  • Last seen wearing a black and blue t-shirt, red baseball cap, black jeans, and black boots.

The vehicle involved is a:

  • 2005 Gray Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup TXLP: PNF8971
  • Vehicle has chrome wheels and door handles with decal of “Gonzalez” on the front windshield and a decal of “Antrax” on both sides.
