Baltimore Police Shoot White Burglary Suspect

A 45-year-old man was shot by a police officer early Sunday morning in East Baltimore, officials said.

According to WBALTV, police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 3000 block of E. Monument St around 4:35AM, Sunday morning. Upon their arrival, they encountered a masked man holding a “shiny” metal object. After ordering the man to drop the item, an officer fired his weapon striking the suspect.

According to Baltimore Police Deputy Commissioner Dean Palmere, one officer fired at least one shot – striking the suspect in the torso.

He was listed in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

The identity of the suspect has not been released, but he has been identified as a 45-year-old white man who is “known to police”.
