NEW JERSEY — On Monday, , a naked man, under the influence of narcotics, was arrested after he assaulted an infant.
At 9:24 pm, patrol officers to the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue for a report of a naked man beating at the front door to the apartment building. Responding officers were alerted that the man then assaulted an infant. Officers arrived to find Stephon Whitfield naked, yelling, and bleeding. Whitfield had attempted to enter a man’s vehicle and steal his money, but was pushed away. He then approached a woman pushing her 9 month old baby in a stroller and attacked the child. The baby suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment.
Officers Armani Rex and Malik Tolbert arrested Whitfield without incident. Whitfield was taken to the medical center for evaluation.
Stephon Whitfield, 28, from Atlantic City, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and disorderly conduct.
