Border Patrol In Arizona Apprehends 5 South Asia Nationals

YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Sector agents apprehended five nationals from Nepal and Pakistan illegally in the United States in two separate incidents Thursday.

In the first incident, Yuma Station agents near County 17 1/2 and the Salinity canal found two 27-year-old men from Nepal who had illegally entered the United States from Mexico. The men reportedly traveled from Nepal through India, Thailand, Colombia, and Mexico before entering the United States illegally near Yuma.

The men were provided medical screenings by on-site medical providers and were cleared for transport. They are charged with immigration violations.

In the second incident, a Wellton Station agent conducting surveillance observed six individuals east of Sentinel and south of Interstate 8, and directed nearby Special Operations Detachment agents to the group’s location. After questioning by agents, the six individuals were found to be illegally present in the United States. Three of the six were Pakistani nationals, while the others were Mexican nationals.

All six illegal aliens have been charged with immigration violations.
