Border Patrol Rescues Teenager Kidnapped From Illinois

LAREDO, Texas – On July 25, 2017, agents working at the Border Patrol Checkpoint on Interstate Highway 35 encountered a red Alero vehicle at the primary lane. The driver and passenger were questioned regarding their immigration status and referred to secondary for further interviews. Further interviews of the passenger revealed she was 17 years and a possible victim of kidnapping.

Agents contacted the teenager’s step-mother and she verified that her step-daughter had been kidnapped from their home in Illinois on July 19 and had filed a missing person’s report in Cumberland County with the Toledo Sheriff’s Office.

Agents contacted the Cumberland County Toledo Sheriff’s Office and verified the missing person’s report. The teenager was turned over to the custody of the Webb County Sheriff’s Office to be reunited with her family.
