Two police officers were attacked with a knife while patrolling near the park Bonnevie in Molenbeek on Wednesday afternoon.
The attacker landed several blows with the bladed article, but he failed to injure the officers due to them wearing bulletproof/stab vests.
The suspect was swiftly taken into custody after attempting to flee the scene.
Authorities have not yet commented on the motive of this crime.
The local prosecution confirmed that they will release further details and provide a possible motive in the coming hours.
