NORTH CAROLINA — Police were searching for a suspect with a rifle in Carolina Beach Monday after multiple reports of shots fired.
Police surrounded the area in the 1600 block of Sea Ray. — The New Hanover County Sheriff later said one suspect had been taken into custody.
Residents in the area were urged to stay indoors.
At least one school was placed on lockdown.
There were no confirmed injuries.
