Active Shooter Reported In Farmington, NM

FARMINGTON, N.M. — At least three civilians were killed and two police officers were shot in Farmington Monday.

The center of the scene is at Dustin Avenue and E Navajo Street.

Around 11:15 a.m. on Monday, the Farmington Police Department requested that Farmington Municipal Schools place all schools under precautionary lockdowns. Although, some of the lockdowns have been lifted.

Additionally, the San Juan Regional Medical Center is also on lockdown.

“ATF is responding to a report of a mass shooting in Farmington, NM,” the ATF said in a tweet.

Farmington police later confirmed at least three fatailities.

“At this time, the details we have are that multiple officers from the Farmington Police Department were involved in an officer involved shooting,” the department said in a statement. “One suspect was confronted and killed on scene. The suspect’s identity is unknown and there are no other known threats at this time. Two officers were shot, one from the Farmington Police Department and one from New Mexico State Police, both currently at San Juan Regional Medical Center being treated for their injuries and in stable condition. There are multiple civilian victims with at least 3 deceased. We will provide more details as they become available.”

A motive for the shooting is not known at this time.
