TENNESSEE — The TBI and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has been in a manhunt for Floyd Ray Cook for the last 5 days.

Cook is wanted for felony warrants out of Kentucky. The suspect is also wanted in connection with the shooting of an officer of the Algood Police Department in Putnam County, TN. The officer was shot during a traffic stop on Oct. 24.

He has just been spotted by cops in Cumberland County, KY. Police are in an active manhunt for the fugitive.

The scene is in the woods off Highway 61 South.

A command center has been established. Police are telling residents to avoid the area.

Cook was just in a shootout yesterday with police in White House, Tenn.

Authorities tried to apprehend Cook and he wrecked his car, fired shots, and took off on foot on Wednesday.

The incident is being investigated by the TBI, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Algood Police Department.

Officer Ahscari Valencia, has been released from the hospital in good condition. He has served with Algood PD for 1-1/2 years. His family has requested privacy.

Cook is charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
