SARALAND, AL — A female Saraland Police Officer was shot in the head while responding to a domestic call Wednesday, police said.
The scene is at Martha Alleyn Drive.
The Officer, identified as Jackie Tucker, was taken to USA Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
The suspect was also shot and transported–he was later pronounced deceased.
Saraland Police Chief James West said about the suspect (via WKRG), “he immediately opened fire when the officers arrived, striking one of the police officers in the head. My officer is in critical condition and we ask the community and everyone for their prayers.”
The incident reportedly started as an argument between the suspect and his grandfather.
