GEORGIA — All clear given after suspicious package found. People allowed to re-enter the building.
Atlanta City Hall was evacuated Thursday afternoon after a suspicious package was discovered.
The Atlanta Police Department says that the item was found on the east side of the building on Pryor Street.
A bomb squad is on scene. Streets around the building are closed off.
AJC.com originally reported the Atlanta Municipal Court building was being evacuated after a verbal threat was called in on the fourth floor.
“There was some confusion,” police said. “There was not a suspicious package in the FulCo courthouse. The package is on the east side of City Hall and our bomb techs are on scene.”
No further details were immediately available.
