Joe Biden injured his ankle Saturday while playing with his dog, his campaign says.

“On Saturday Nov. 28, President-elect Biden slipped while playing with his dog Major, and twisted his ankle. Out of an abundance of caution, he will be examined this afternoon by an orthopedist.”

Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor initially said, “President-elect Joe Biden sustained a sprain of his right foot. Initial X-rays are reassuring that there is no obvious fracture and he will be getting an additional CT for more detailed imaging.”

Dr. O’Connor later released the following statement: “Follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot. It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks.”

President Donald Trump quote-tweeted a “get well” message to the former Vice President.
