UPDATE: Mother Charged With Murder After Bodies Of 2 Children Found In Freezer

    DETROIT, Michigan — Martin Luther King Apartments — St. Aubin St.

    The dead bodies of two children were discovered inside a freezer while a Court Officer was attempting to serve an eviction notice on the City’s East side.

    The children died from “multiple blunt trauma,” the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

    One child suffered “thermal injuries” after he was placed in the freezer.

    Police have not identified the victims but reports say their ages are 14 and 10.

    “Terrible find this afternoon,” Police Chief James Craig said. “It was during that eviction process that they discovered two young children in a freezer … they were inside a bag and appeared to be frozen.”

    The mother, 35-year-old Mitchelle Blair has been charged with murder.

    WXYZ-TV reports that two other children, ages 11 and 17, have been taken from the home and placed with protective services.
