A plot has been uncovered in Baltimore by police in which a 16-year-old boy planned to murder people at the George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology in Towson.

Police stumbled upon the conspiracy as a result of another investigation. Originally responding to a reported of theft from three vehicles in Monkton on Saturday afternoon, detectives identified a 16-year-old boy as the culprit.

After the officers located him at his home in Monkton, they discovered that the boy had intended to enter the center with explosives and a gun in order to murder people.

According to police officials, the boy presented a hand gun and home-made explosive devises made from everyday materials. Other materials were also found that could have been used for assembling more explosives.

County police Chief Jim Johnson commented that “the first responding officer in this case did an exceptional job of police work, and thanks to his diligence, we intervened in what could have been an extremely serious situation.”

The child swiftly underwent an emergency evaluation after which he was charged as a juvenile with several counts of possession of a destructive device, theft and a handgun violation. It is believed that the boy acted entirely independently. Nevertheless, further details will come to light as the investigation continues.
