California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a State of Emergency Wednesday as a strong storm is expected to slam the Sacramento area, among others.
Parts of the area are still flooded from a previous storm.
“This proclamation will allow the state to respond quickly as the storm develops and support locals in their ongoing response,” the Governor’s office said.
