COLORADO — On Saturday, around 5:00 pm, Fremont County Deputies and medical crews were dispatched to the Royal Gorge Route train after a caller said that a female fell off of the train and was ran over.

Deputies determined the location of the incident was 4 mile west of the train station. Deputies, medical crew, and investigators took the highrail (the rail road trucks that are able to drive on the road and on the train tracks) to the scene.

Upon arrival the female was visibly deceased.

The Fremont County Coroner was notified and arrived and pronounced the female, Leslie Cacy, 28, of Canon City, dead at the scene.

It was later determined that Cacy was a conductor of the train and while the train was on the way back to the train
station, about 4 miles from the station, Cacy was at the rear of the train, as it was backing up to the station, standing in the door opening when she fell off the rear of the train and was ran over.

There were approximately 200 passengers on the train at the time of the incident.

No foul play is suspected.

Autopsy is scheduled for next week.

The Royal Gorge Railroad suspended service for several days.
