The US Coast Guard confirms that a cruise ship out of Boston has run aground in Bermuda. At the time, no injures have been reported.

The ship, The Norwegian Dawn,  ran aground after leaving Bermuda on Tuesday evening.

There are 2,675 passengers and 1,062 crew members on board, WCVB reported. Life boats are being delivered.

Norwegian Dawn is a cruise ship that entered service in 2002 and is in operation with Norwegian Cruise Line. A ship or boat run “aground” means the vessel is immobilized by water too shallow to allow it to float.

No further details were available.

More about the Norwegian Dawn: The ship was completed on December 4, 2002 at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and sailed her maiden voyage in Europe on December 7, 2002.

She was intended to operate with Star Cruises under the name SuperStar Scorpio, but it was decided that she would be delivered to Star’s subsidiary, Norwegian Cruise Line as Norwegian Dawn.

Norwegian Dawn was christened December 16, 2002, in an elaborate ceremony in Manhattan by actress Kim Cattrall.
