TACOMA, Wash. – Police confirmed there was an officer-involved shooting near the Tacoma Mall around 3:30 p.m. local time Wednesday.
Local media reports the shooting occurred at the West entrance of the shopping center and the suspect is dead.
A witness captured the shooting on cell phone video.

It was unclear what led up to the gunfire or if the officer was injured. A weapon was recovered at the scene, police say.
Roads in the area were closed due to the investigation.
