A State of Emergency Has Been Declared For Fayette, Kanawha Counties…
The Kanawha County Emergency Management & Floodplain Management Posted The Following Statement To Their Facebook Page:
A large train derailment has occurred at Adena Village in the Montgomery area. This incident is believed to involve a large number of tankers carrying crude oil. Several tank cars and houses, along with the Kanawha River are on fire. Some of these tank cars have exploded.
Water systems from Montgomery, downstream have been notified to close their intakes. If you live in a community with an independent water system, it is important that you conserve water.

MOUNT CARBON, W.Va. -WCHS- Some residents are being evacuated in Fayette County in the Mount Carbon area after a train derailed, spilling oil into the river.
Metro 911 said it had received a request from Fayette County 911 to send a tanker from the Glasgow Fire Department to the Montgomery Fire Department to assist with the incident.
