The Japanese government Thursday morning issued a warning to residents after North Korea reportedly fired at least one ballistic missile.

As a precautionary measure, the government advised residents in Hokkaido to immediately seek shelter. That order was lifted shortly after the missile landed in nearby waters.

The nation’s J-Alert system was activated and sirens began sounding around 7:55 a.m. local time, just minutes after the launch.

No injuries were reported.
