Joint Base Andrews On Lockdown Following Report Of Active Shooter

Reports of an active shooter led to a lockdown of Joint Base Andrews (JBA) on Thursday.

According to a Facebook post by the base, an armed individual was spotted near base housing and residents were instructed to shelter-in-place.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a purple sweatshirt and black shorts, carrying an AR-15 style rifle without an orange tip.

No injuries have been reported.

JBA, located in Prince George’s County, MD, houses Air Force One and other aircraft used for official travel, including trips outside of Washington, D.C
