LOUISIANA — The National Tsunami Warning Center says a 4.9 Magnitude earthquake struck in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday.
The rare quake struck about 120 miles SE of Grand Isle or 160 mi SE of New Orleans. There is no tsunami threat from this event.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake hit at a depth of 25 miles.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
