FOUNTAIN VALLEY, California — A suspect is in custody after entering a Southern California hospital with at least two weapons Wednesday.
Witnesses say the man, wearing a surgical mask, walked into Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center holding what appeared to be a gun. Local media reports staff members tackled him and waited for police to arrive.
CBS-LA reporter Michele Gile says the suspect had a flare gun and replica handgun. She also reports the man fired the flare gun. The unidentified gunman said he wanted to “shoot up” hospital.

Initial reports indicated an active shooter but no injuries have been reported. A motive for the crime remains under investigation.
