Active Shooter Reported At Walmart In Texas; Hostages Taken

AMARILLO, Texas — An active shooter situation has been reported at a Walmart in Amarillo, Texas.

Initial reports indicate a man is inside the Walmart store with a gun and at least one hostage.

Police have now shut down I-27 and Georgia Northbound frontage road.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the surrounding area.

There have been no reports of any deaths or injuries as a result of this incident.

The shooter has now been neutralized after being shot by SWAT officers.

All of the hostages have been accounted for and are uninjured.

Witnesses have reported that the shooter was an employee at the store and took a fellow employee hostage.

Police have now requested a Somalian translator.

The city’s social media accounts warned people to avoid the surrounding area due to an active shooter situation.

According to News channel10, Police are searching for a Somalian man wearing Kakhi pants.
