Manchester United Football Club Evacuated; Suspicious Device Detonated By Police

Manchester, England — Manchester United have evacuated parts of Old Trafford following a security scare.

The team were set to play again Bournemouth FC at 3pm (Local Time) but the game was delayed after a suspicious package was found.

The game has now been abandoned after the players were escorted off the pitch, while fans were instructed to leave the venue.

Police were called to attend the incident and the game was called off 15 minutes later.

Members of the public have been urged to avoid the surrounding area.

Stewards ushered around 20,000 fans from The Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and the Stretford End when the warning was announced.

Police and sniffer dogs were on the ground after they were told about the package.

The device was later detonated by the bomb squad.

Police and security services are still investigating.
