Northern California Hit By Magnitude 5.4 Earthquake New Year’s Day

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) on Sunday said a preliminary 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook Humboldt County, California.

The quake struck around 10:35 a.m. local time near Rio Dell, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
