NY State Police Searching For Woman Who Stole Squad Car, Dragged Trooper

State Police searching for Schoharie County woman

Schoharie County, NY — (Press Release / NYSP) — On October 2, 2016 at approximately 12:20 pm, the New York State Police were assisting the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office with the transport of Tierra L. Scott.

The trooper transporting Scott pulled into the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office and exited the vehicle to retrieve Scott from the passenger seat of the vehicle.

During the transport, Scott was able to remove her restraint and when the trooper exited the vehicle, climbed into the driver’s seat and locked the doors.

As the Trooper was trying to regain entry into the vehicle, Scott drove off, dragging the Trooper a short distance.

The Trooper received minor injuries.

The stolen state police vehicle was located abandoned on Wetsel Hollow Road in the Town of Schoharie.

Police are actively searching for Scott. She is described as a white female, approximately 5’2 and 105 pounds.
