BREAKING: NYPD On Alert After Receiving Call Threatening To Shoot Police Officers

The NYPD is now on a heightened alert after they received a call from an anonymous caller threatening to shoot a police officer.

The NYPD were contacted by police in Philadelphia who warned them that someone called threatening to shoot a cop.

Police then investigated the call and discovered the call came from an address in Upper Manhattan.

According to CBS New York, the NYPD is aware of who made the calls and are now active looking for the person.

They went on to state that they have several addresses within New York and they have a criminal record.

The Police Commissioner, Bill Bratton, has said that officers with smartphones received the alert immediately.

The NYPD have stressed that his is solely an alert to police and is no threat to the public.

The call reportedly made reference to ISIS.
