
NEW YORKÂ – An airplane headed to Westchester County Airport has disappeared after losing communication with the air traffic control tower, as reported by police and local news outlets.
The aircraft, a small single-engine plane, was approaching the airport around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday when contact was lost, according to the Westchester County Police.
The plane has a capacity of six passengers, but it is unclear how many people were on board at the time communication was lost.
A search is currently being conducted in the vicinity of the airport.
