CLIFTON — UPDATE: Standoff over. Suspects taken into custody.
There was a massive police presence at the La Quinta Inn and Suites on Route 3 in Clifton Wednesday.
At least three suspects are holed up in the hotel. ABC7 reports they are wanted for armed robbery.
SWAT and hostage negotiators are on the scene. It’s unclear if the suspects have any hostages.
The details of the robbery and related incidents are unknown, but there are reports that an off-duty police officer may have been the victim, the report said.
Traffic delays were also reported on Route 3 in the area. Bus service was delayed due to reported police activity around 5 p.m., according to NJ Transit.
Clifton police, Paterson officers and Passaic County Sheriff’s Department officers were at the hotel.
