At 9:07 a.m., the University Police Department responded to a call about a suspicious person in the parking lot at Alumni Hall, Building 60. This individual had a stick and threatened to hit the officers once they arrived on the scene. He then ran away.
The suspect is an African-American male wearing khaki pants, a dark blue shirt and short dreadlocks. He appears to be in his 20s with a thin build.
UPD and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have established a perimeter and are currently searching an area of woods to the north and west of Alumni Hall. If you should encounter this individual or suspect any other suspicious activity, immediately contact UPD at(904) 620-2800.
