President Donald Trump is expected to announce the withdraw of hundreds of United States servicemembers from the Middle East.
The President, reeling from a report that he called military members “losers” and “suckers,” will make an announcement regarding Iraq on Wednesday. A separate announcement regarding troops in Afghanistan is expected later in the week, White House officials said.
Trump has repeatedly denied the claims made by The Atlantic and calls the story of him disparaging troops a “hoax.”
In 2016, Trump campaigned on ending America’s endless wars.
