PERRIS, CA — On Thursday, local law enforcement in Cheyenne, Wyoming, conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a silver 2007 GMC, CA License 8BKX913. The person in the vehicle, Jose Luis Torres Garcia, who was wanted for the “execution style”  triple murder that occurred in the city of Perris on February 17, 2020, was arrested. Also located in the vehicle was 15 pounds of marijuana.

On Monday, February 17, 2020, a triple homicide occurred at the Perris Valley Cemetery at 915 N. Perris Blvd in the city of Perris. Deputies arrived and located three deceased male adults suffering from injuries.
Jose Luis Torres Garcia was identified as the suspect.

The victims were identified as Jaime Covarrubias Espindola, 50 years old out of Perris, Jose Maria Aguilar-Espejel, 38 years old out of Perris, and Rodrigo Aguilar-Espejel, 28 years old also out of Perris.

Garcia also had two unrelated misdemeanor warrants in Riverside and San Mateo counties.

Patch.com reported: Sheriff Chad Bianco said the cemetery killings took place sometime on the night of Feb. 16 or early in the predawn hours of Feb. 17. The victims were targeted in what appeared to be an “assassination or execution,” according to the sheriff.

Bianco could not say whether the killings were cartel-related, but did acknowledge that Torres Garcia and the victims knew each other. The four had been together at restaurants the night of the killings, the sheriff said.

Investigators do not have a motive and Bianco would not reveal how the three men were killed.

Torres Garcia has been deported out of the country twice.
