Fort Pierce, FLORIDA — St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Detention Deputy Alan Ross of Port St. Lucie lost his life in a single-car crash on I-95 early this evening as he drove to work, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that took place shortly after 6:20 p.m. in the northbound lane of I-95 at the 130 mile marker, Sheriff Mascara said.
