Two RAF Typhoons have been scrambled to intercept two Russian bombers that are heading towards UK airspace.
The MoD confirmed that two Tupolev Tu-95 aircraft were spotted heading towards British airspace.
This is that latest in several incidents where RAF jets have intercepted Russian bombers and escorted them away from the UK.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence said: “The jets were launched from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire this afternoon and the incident is currently ongoing, the spokesman added.”
