GREENBURGH, New York — A retired Police Officer was shot in Westchester County Monday afternoon, according to WABC.

The Officer was shot twice while intervening in a burglary in progress.

The scene is near Knollwood and Payne in Greenburgh, the report said.

At least 2 suspects fled in a Blue BMW and they were taken into custody on Sprain Brook  Parkway in Yonkers, FiOS reported.

The retired officer’s injuries did not initially appear to be life threatening, according to Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.

Authories were searching the roads for an object the suspects may have tossed out the window, NBC reported.

Greenburgh is a town in the western part of Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 88,400 at the 2010 census.
